DOLMABAHCE PALACE ( in English)

Dolmabahce Palace with kids

Istanbul is famous for its gorgeous palaces from Ottoman Empire and Dolmabahce Palace is the last built one which is just across Besiktas football club stadium . It has high walls which attracts you even behind it :)

There is a clock tower in the entrance which is open for tours. The height of the tower is 27 meter and it is four-sided.

there are mainly two parts in Dolmabahce Palace: Mabeyn-i Humayun( Selamlik ) and Harem. It is not allowed to do an indivual tour, you need to join a guided tour which lasts 30 minutes per each part. Since there are stairs inside, baby strollers stay outside and you carry your baby:) Apart from carrying my little boy during the tour, it is a quite succesfull guided tour

It is not allowed to take pictures inside so you can see only the crystal stairs in the entrance of Selamlik. The rest of the palace is kept in our mind,no picture:)
The Crystal Stairs

The Palace is magnificent and there are lots of details about daily life of Sultan's.

After Ottoman Empire, Ataturk also lived in this palace for a while and he passed away in the room 71. His room is furnished more simply compared to Sultan's rooms. Four Seasons Painting which reminded him his hometown is  hanging on just across Ataurk's bed

The palace has a huge and nice garden right by the sea. There is sweet breeze coming from the sea.
If you are interested in Ottoman Empire,You need to experience this ...
